DIPLOMA / CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS

A Diploma program from KIU involves a set number of academic courses that lead to the receipt of a complete document giving the student confirmation that they have successfully completed a specific full-curriculum program of study with the University. Typically Diploma programs are shorter in length, usually between six months to one year. KIU Diploma programs are designed to provide students with the basic competencies needed in a particular field of specialization while at the same time preparing students for entry-level employment in the field. It is important to understand that Diploma programs usually do not culminate in the receipt of university-level academic credits, but they usually award CEUs (Continuing Education Units). Those with an interest in this type of program should spend some time discussing their options with an Academic Counselor for information about these types of programs.
